The Michigan Elks Association State Convention
was held from May 16th thru May 19th at the Kewadin Casinos Hotel & Convention Center in Sault Saint Marie, MI. Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 was awarded the Grand Lodge Gold Star for Lodge Activities. Congratulations to the Lodge Officers, Past Exalted Rulers & Membership for the recognition and efforts in receiving this award. To achieve the level of the Gold Star, each Lodge must participate in a variety of Grand Lodge and State Association activities, programs, Elkdom requirements and assistance goals which each Lodge is requested to pursue.
Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 was well represented at the state convention, as Gregory C. Hudy PER, incoming Metro District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler appointed Scott R. Harris PER the Metro District 4200 Esquire and Greg Shannon PER was installed as the Metro District 4200 Vice President. Exalted Ruler Gary L. Nesbitt II, PER, Chairman of the Board of Directors John Cuthbertson, Lodge Leading Knight, Susan J. Hudy Assistant Lodge Secretary, State Publications Chair Jean Chapdelaine, 1st lady Laura Nesbitt, Danielle Shannon and Tamara Cuthbertson also attended the convention in support of Lodge 343. We wish these individuals well at the next level with the newly installed or appointed Grand Lodge and/or Metro District 4200 positions for the 2024-2025 term.
