ready golf guidelines

dress code

on the tee
  • Priority: The player who is ready should tee off first.

  • Order of Play: Shorter hitters are encouraged to hit before others.

  • Efficiency: Tee off as soon as the group ahead is clear.

  • Preparedness: Always carry an extra ball.

on the fairway
  • Timeliness: Hit when ready and safe—do not rely on the honor system.

  • Club Selection: Choose the appropriate club and proceed without delay.

  • Awareness: Watch each shot to help locate balls quickly.

  • Lost Ball Searches: Limit searches to a maximum of 3 minutes.

  • Score Management: Upon reaching double par, pick up and place your ball on the green.

  • Club Placement: When possible, place clubs between the green and the next tee.

  • Putt Strategy: Study your putt while others are putting.

  • Continuity: Continue putting until you hole out.

  • Progression: Leave the green immediately after holing out and proceed to the next tee.

  • Scoring: Complete your scorecard once you have moved off the green.

Proper attire must be worn at all times on the golf course and in the clubhouse.
Anyone in violation may be asked to change or leave.
The Port Huron Elks Lodge reserves the right to refuse players and/or service.

  • Collared shirts with sleeves

  • Slacks or tailored shorts

  • Appropriate golf shoes

  • Jeans are acceptable as long as they have no rips or tears

woMen’s Dress Code
  • Appropriate golfing attire (shirts, slacks, tailored shorts)

  • Appropriate golf shoes

  • Jeans are acceptable as long as they have no rips or tears

  • Tank tops are not allowed

Unacceptable Attire
  • T-shirts

  • Halter tops

  • Tube tops

  • Short shorts

  • Midriff tops

  • Swim suits

Golf cart agreement

Par 3 Greens

Courtesy: If the group ahead is waiting at the next tee, move to a safe area so the group behind can hit.

Short Cuts
  • Recording Score: Mark your score while en route to the next tee.

  • Golf Cart Etiquette: When driving, drop your partner at their ball and then continue to yours.

Ready Golf Enforcement Policy

  • Lag Warning: Falling more than one hole behind results in a staff-issued warning.

  • Progression Penalty: Continued lag may require forfeiting your tee shot or skipping a hole.

  • Course Integrity: Ongoing delays may lead to removal from the course to ensure an enjoyable experience for all.

  • Reminder: Slow play affects everyone—please cooperate.

  • Occupancy: No more than 2 persons and 2 bags per golf cart.

  • Driver Eligibility: Drivers must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Proximity Rules: Carts must remain at least 30 feet from greens, tees, and water hazards.

  • Property Boundaries: Carts must stay on golf course property at all times.

  • Driving Conduct: Drive carefully, maintain a firm grip, and avoid spinning wheels.

  • Parking Brake: Engage before leaving the cart.

  • Usage Rights: The Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 / Golf Course may refuse cart usage for rule violations, without refund.

  • 90-Degree Rule: Use this rule unless otherwise instructed.

  • Financial Responsibility: Renters are liable for any damage caused to the cart, course, or persons through misuse.

  • Liability Disclaimer: The golf course is not liable for damage or injury from cart usage.

  • Return Policy: Return carts to the pro shop immediately after your round.

  • Waiver Requirement: All players must sign the cart agreement waiver before starting play.
